Nu'u is an urban pacific story that looks at the modern migration of the pacific people in a humerus and realistic fashion.
Nu'u is an hour long work and utilizes pacific movement, kapa haka, hip hop and contemporary dance to tell a great story.
Nu'u also has a strong pacific soundscape with a mixture of home grown favorites and live musical accompaniment.
You will laugh, you will cry. Nu'u is a show not to be missed.

Since February we have been in an in depth process to fully immerse ourselves in contemporary dance.
We have worked with two amazing choreographers, Aloalii Tapu and Christopher Ofanoa who have guided us through a foreign landscape.
Two months of hardwork came to a head last night out our SOLD OUT showcase of Melting Pot: Urban Dance Choreographic Exploration ... Thank you so much to everyone who came out, we hope you enjoyed the show.
Special thanks to Creative Communities Auckland Whau Local Board EXCEL School of Performing Arts and Zeal West for all of your support of this initiative. Hopefully we can grow it together in the future.
We hope everyone enjoyed the show, we will be looking at taking this around in the near future, so if you missed out stay posted here for future showings.
Melting Pot is a showcase of short works using contemporary choreographers and Hip Hop dancers.
This showcase highlights the contrasts of styles, the differences of vocabularies and two worlds colliding to create something interesting, frustrating and exciting.
Melting Pot will showcase new works from Aloalii Tapu, the 2016 recipient of the German Faust prize and named the best dancer in Germany, and Christopher Ofanoa who has been working with the New Zealand Dance Company for the last three years and was a finalist in the Rolex Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative which took him over to Israel last year.
The journey with these pieces has been interesting and the final product will blow you away.
